Most Magnesium Food Recipe photo details
I noticed that spinach is top of the list of high magnesium foods. Also, several tomato foods are on the list. So I searched for a photo of spinach with tomato sauce. Then I found this photo from https://www.rachaelraymag.com/recipe/farro-spaghetti-with-buttery-tomato-sauce-farm-spinach complete with a tasty alkaline recipe.
Most Magnesium Food Recipe
It’s certainly possible to prepare meals that are higher in magnesium or with better PRAL alkalinity. But I like this recipe for its simplicity. Also, it’s versatile enough to add other high-manganese foods from the list, such as celery. As for PRAL improvement, I have got into the habit of increasing the ratio of vegetables to pasta.
Anyway, here is the recipe from Rachael’s website:
- Salt and pepper
- 1 pound farro spaghetti or whole wheat spaghetti
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 shallot, finely chopped
- 2 – 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1/4 cup dry sherry
- 1 can (28 to 32 oz.) san marzano tomatoes
- 1 bunch farm-fresh spinach, coarsely chopped (about 4 cups)
- A few grates nutmeg
- Freshly grated pecorino-romano, for topping
Bring a largo pot of water to a boil, salt it, add the pasta and cook until just shy of al dente. Drain, reserving 1/2 cup pasta water.
In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until foaming. Stir in the shallot and garlic for 2 to 3 minutes, then stir in the sherry. Stir in the tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. lightly crush the tomatoes with a potato masher. Bring the sauce to a bubble, lower the heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
Add the spinach to the sauce to wilt, then stir in the nutmeg. Add the pasta and reserved pasta water and turn with tongs to combine with the spinach and sauce. Serve in shallow bowls and top with the pecorino-romano.
